The band of seven members "Cuba Nova”, presents its debut album "Agua" with ten lively songs of Afro-Cuban rhythm; the hips hardly remain calm and make you want to witness the artists’ vitality yourself. These passionate musicians, who carry the rhythm of the Caribbean islands in their blood, radiate an inimitable charisma, inspired by a versatile music that successfully unites the different cultures.
Olvido Ruiz Castellanos' captivating multi-octave voice provides the basis for Cuba Nova’s first album, where her sensuous side can be discerned for example in the smooth jazz ballad “Como dos Estranos”. Here, like on the entire album, she operates with a distinguished as well as skilled breathing technique, that transforms her voice into a roaring organ also hears in the rhythmic Latin-fusion songs "Ofemi" and "Maria Se Fue." Moreover, her vocal power is presented in the arrangements of pianist Marialy Pacheco, while Castellanos sings as a seductive rhythm'n'blues lady in “Dime Corazon".
